Top Bike Launches Expected In India In 2011

Year 2010 has been a very eventful year where Car and Bike Launches are concerned. Recently we covered – 94 Top Indian Car & Bike Launches Of Year 2010 on Car Blog India. We hope that with the recovering economy globally and a strong economic growth in India, we will see another eventful and prosperous year ahead for Indians and Indian industries. In this article we look forward to the coming year 2011 and see what all is expected from Indian automobile industry in this year to come.

1. Kawasaki Ninja 650R For India

Had i been a wealthy person, i would have bought the bike that we are going to talk about today. I am talking about the soon to be introduced Kawasaki Ninja 650R which is sibling of very popular motorcycle already running on the roads on India, Kawasaki Ninja 250R.Kawasaki is a world renowned brand which initiated the trend of bikes with Ram Air engines. The line-up offered globally is certainly worth its price with a host of features and breathtaking performance right at a push of the throttle and now with the addition of Ninja 650R in March 2011, the expansion plans of the company seem to take shape.

2. KTM Duke 125 For India

KTM will soon launch its KTM 125 Avatar concept 2010 variant in India. The Sporty Dirt bike will be called KTM Duke. The bike looks sporty, feels sporty, and don’t go by the 125 CC mileage, because this monster gives 20 PS power which is much higher than the normal 125 CC commuter bikes which deliver 12 to 13 PS power.

3. ktm duke 200 For India

With the entrance of the Yamaha FZ-16 and Yamaha R-15, the India two-wheeler market scenario has been transformed and taken to another and certainly a much better level. Earlier where it was only a dream for bikers to buy a stripped down version of a performance bike, now has been drastically changed. For the Indian market the most important thing to keep in mind is the price tag and one can only offer performance bikes at affordable prices by stripping down some of their features. The trend was brought by Yamaha and is being followed by a number of brands like Kawasaki, Honda, Suzuki and now KTM.

4. Honda CBR250R Launch In India

In February 2011 Honda will open Honda CBR 250 booking in India. It will start receiving token money for booking, the deliveries will start in April 2011. The pricing of the Honda CBR 250 has not been announced as of now but it is believed that it will take on Ninja 250 in a big way by competitive pricing. We are keeping our eyes on it and will update you as soon as any official information arrives.

5. TVS Apache RTR 180 With ABS

Fuel Injection, Delta Frames, Disc Brakes, Digital gizmos are the desires that every young man wants to be an integral part of his life. So far no Indian company has evolved with their bikes, but TVS seems to be taking much interest in different technological stuff and even Bajaj is there with TVS. TVS already has one of the finest motorcycles in India in the form of TVS Apache RTR 180 which is not only one of the fastest in production but also upholds the tag of being the best stopper among all the machines produced in its segment in India.

6. Yamaha Gearless Scooters For India

Honda Activa, Mahindra Rodeo, TVS Wego and Suzuki Access are one of the most popular and hot selling gearless scooters in India these days. Yamaha is correct in gauging this demand and claim its share of the pie. With demand of popular scooters like Honda Activa being as much as two months, it’s a right move for Yamaha to enter the segment and create more choices in the segment.

7. BMW Motorcycles For India

BMW is going extremely well with appreciable car sales still increasing at a good rate and has also confirmed its plans of launching motorcycles in India. On one hand where Yamaha, Honda, Ducati, Suzuki and Harley Davidson have already entered the two-wheeler arena with high end performance bikes, BMW has to make sure that it offers everything to attract customers. Now the question arises which are the bike that the brand is going to launch? The answer is BMW R1200GS and BMW S1000RR are the two machines that this German manufacturer will offer initially. The S1000RR is a sport bike whereas the R1200GS is a dual-sport one.

New Kawasaki KX450F

Will it allotment technology with the works bikes? Will it be a bigger apparatus in every way? Motorcycle.com got arrive by Kawasaki to examination their latest weapon in the MX wars, and we showed up anticipating admirable things. Kawasaki hosted this accident at the anew opened Pala Raceway, on the Pala Indian catch in Southern California. At a columnist intro, usually you get bikes that accept been burst in, bankrupt up with new artificial and tires, so the testers get machines with the “bugs” formed out of them. Not this time, all the bikes were new, with aught hours on them. There were three mechanics assigned to anniversary annual crew: two Kawasaki techs and one Kayaba man. We alike had a annoy guy from Bridgestone to audit the abrasion our addition was putting on the Bridgestone 404s advanced and back, and it accepted to be an accomplished motocross annoy for the sun-baked adobe that makes up a SoCal MX track.Engineers aimed at giving the KX450F better overall balance and stability – especially for more aggressive riders. What we discovered from our first impression is that the 2010 KX likes to be ridden hard. The harder you push it, the better it seems to perform.

2011 Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Vaquero Cruiser Bike

The new 2011 Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Vaquero bagger is all that – and much more. Kawasaki engineers and designers didn’t just throw custom paint and a blacked-out motif on a Vulcan 1700 and call it done. They digested valuable owner and market research, and scrutinized every system – engine, chassis, features, bodywork and appearance – to ensure that the bike being developed squared nicely with what cruiser buyers wanted.

Speaking of just cruisin’ along; the Vaquero offers true touring-bike convenience in the form of its electronic cruise control system, conveniently operated from the right handlebar and usable at any speed between 30 and 85 mph in any of the top four gears. The cruise system can be disengaged in any of the following ways: usage of the brake lever, clutch lever, rear brake pedal, or manually turning the throttle grip past the “closed” position.

RYAN VILLOPOTO SAN FRANCISCO

MONSTER ENERGY KAWASAKI’S VILLOPOTO WINS SAN FRANCISCO SLUGFEST
Irvine, Calif. –Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto returned to the top step of the podium Saturday night at AT&T Park in San Francisco with his first win of 2010. After dominating his heat race, Villopoto took every advantage at his disposal to earn his third career supercross win. In his debut with the team, Nick Wey scored his first top-10 finish of the season coming home in eighth. Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Jake Weimer earned his fourth straight supercross lites podium with a runner-up finish, while his teammate Josh Hansen came from last to finish seventh.
Monster Energy Kawasaki Under the Tent
On Top
Villopoto had been looking for a breakout race and San Francisco showed the 21-year-old was ready to battle for the title. After moving into second, Villopoto started to cut the gap to first. When the leader went down, Villopoto was able to take control of the race.
“I went into the main with a good gate pick,” said Villopoto. “I didn’t get the start that I wanted, but I got up to third pretty quickly. (Josh) Hill and I went back and forth for a little bit. I was able to get around him and out of the corner of my eye I saw (Ryan) Dungey go down and I thought, ‘it is on now.’ I took the lead and I made up some points this weekend.”
The Wey it is
Wey got a great jump off the gate coming out of the first turn in third place and held steady for most of the race as he continued to get acquainted to his new factory Kawasaki KX450F.
“This is probably one of my best races in the last couple of years,” said Wey. “The bike was great, I just need more time on it so I know how it is going to react on the softer dirt.
The race didn’t go exactly how I wanted but I got a good start. I rode a little tight and I was nervous. I’ll get over that for the next race and it should be good.”
Runner Up
After winning his fourth straight heat race, Weimer looked poised to sweep the evening program again. After getting through the first turn in fourth, he quickly moved up to second. He started to slowly trim the gap to the leader when a small mistake at the finish line forced him to ride for second place.
“All things considered, I’m happy,” said Weimer. “I struggled a little bit today with the dirt and the track. I made a little mistake in the main event and landed on a tuff block. The contact with the tuff block bent my shifter, but it didn’t slow me down too much. The layout was super easy and it was tough to make up time. It wasn’t a horrible night and I salvaged points and I’m still motivated to win. We’ll learn from some things tonight and move forward.”
Fighting Through
Hansen looked to get his third holeshot in as many weeks when he wasn’t able to slow down enough for the slippery first corner and he went off track. Though he wasn’t able to rejoin the race until after every one had gone by, he steadily moved up through the field and finished inside the top 10.
“I came up to seventh from last,” said Hansen. “I went into the first turn a little hot and went off the slippery track. It’s just little things that are holding me back. I feel like I can be on the podium, but it just hasn’t gone my way yet. I felt like I rode with some heart tonight. I didn’t want to give up, because in the past I have. I’m excited to be a part of this team. Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s a winning program and I know I belong here.”
Winning Ways
Villopoto came into San Francisco looking to be more aggressive out on the track and the Washington native wasn’t
afraid to battle for position. For two laps, RV2 and Hill battled for second place with Villopoto finally making the move stick just before the finish line.
“Hill and I battled back and forth,” said Villopoto. “He ran me high after the finish line and I got into the tuff blocks a little bit. It wasn’t too bad. It was all racing. I didn’t know if Dungey was going to be able to get back or not. I pushed to build a gap so I could get the win. The track was tough, and you had to be smooth and perfect. It was slippery and rutty.”
New Ride
Wey only had three days of practice on the Monster Energy Kawasaki before Saturday’s race and the Michigan native is still getting used to the powerful bike.
“It’s going to take some time to get used to this new bike,” said Wey. “I know we can get better results. You can ride it all day on the practice track, but there are small differences in the race that I need to get used too.“
Battling the Track
Rain early in the week made for difficult track conditions all day. The soft dirt in the corners made setting up the bike like trying to hit a moving target.
“The track was slick and the berms weren’t very steep at all,” said Weimer. “They were pretty flat which made it hard to turn. My KX™250F made it easier to get around the corners because it turns so well. It’s just that there really weren’t any rhythm sections to get anything done and the whoops were flat. There wasn’t a lot you could do to make up time.”
Home Cooking
Villopoto looked like a local during practice at AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants. Villopoto’s black and orange gear matched the home team’s color scheme and drew cheers from the fans.

KAWASAKI SWEEP'S VEGAS

Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki made history on Saturday night by claiming the top four positions in the Dave Coombs Sr. Memorial East/West Shootout. Jake Weimer led the train of Kawasaki KX 250Fs at the front of the field with Josh Hansen finishing second, Christophe Pourcel third and Dean Wilson fourth. In the supercross class, Chad Reed earned his first podium of the year finishing second, while Nick Wey battled a stomach flu and still earned a 10th place finish.
Clean Sweep
For the first time in AMA Supercross Lites history, a single team swept the first four positions in a race. The Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team all got off to good starts with Weimer earning the holeshot. Wilson and Pourcel battled for second and Hansen had to work his way up from sixth after the first lap. For the final 12 laps of the race, the team battled for position but still managed to pull away from the field. At the checkered flag, the four teammates finished 10 seconds ahead of the fifth-place rider.
Winning with Style
Weimer led all 15 laps of the main event with a large target on his back. After winning the Western Region championship last weekend, Weimer was able to run the red No. 1 plate for the first time in his career.
“I couldn’t be any happier than I am right now,” said Weimer. “This was my last supercross lites race and I wrapped up my career with a win. That No. 1 plate is heavy, and everyone handles it differently. I was fired up to come here. Since there are no points here, I was able to just concentrate on getting the win. I wanted to make a statement.”
Aggressive
Hansen rode an aggressive race throughout the main event making calculated moves to work his way up from sixth to second. Hansen knew he was racing his teammates so he knew they would race him clean.
“Tonight was sick,” said Hansen. “This team is the best team in the pits and we showed everyone that tonight. It was fun racing against my teammates because we all knew we would race each other clean. I battled with Chris (Pourcel) and Willy (Wilson) to get up to second, it was amazing.”
Back on the Podium
After missing last weekend for the birth of his son, Reed returned to the final race with a clear head and rode a strong 20 laps to finish second.
“It feels nice to get back on the podium,” said Reed. “It’s been a long time since I’ve been up there because of everything that has happened this year. Tonight was really good for the team. Our bike development comes when the rider is going as fast as he can and we moved forward this weekend. This was the first time this year I felt I rode appropriately and was fast enough to continue to develop the bike.”
Defending Champ
Pourcel came into the event as the defending winner and he showed he had the speed to get another trophy. In his heat race, Pourcel was leading early, but crashed and went over the bars. Despite having a 12th gate pick he was able to get a good start in the main event and race his teammates at the front of the field.
“It was a good night for the team,” said Pourcel. “I really wanted to win my last supercross lites race so I am a little disappointed. I was sitting behind Jake and waiting to make a move to the lead but Dean kept pressuring me too so I had to change my plan.”
Willy
Wilson rode strong all day in Vegas, including winning the East Coast heat race. Since the shootout is invitation only event, the top 20 riders from each region make up the heat race, making it a de facto six-lap main event. With his confidence high, Wilson got a great start in the main event and made it up to second place after lap six. He continued to pressure Weimer up front until the final lap when he fell back to fourth in the running order.
Top Team
After winning both region championships and sweeping the top four spots in the East/West Shootout, the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team was the odds-on favorite to earn the Team of the Year Award at the season ending banquet.
Stomach Bug
Wey came to the Las Vegas finale ready to get another top-five finish, but a stomach bug zapped his energy throughout the day. Wey got a good start in the main event and rode as strong as he could to finish 10th and end the season seventh in the final standings.
“I had a pretty tough time today,” said Wey. “I remember telling my wife a couple of times last night that there was no way I would be able to race. My mechanic (Mike) Williamson had the bike dialed and I was able to ride on cruise control and get a 10th.”
2 is 1
Though Ryan Villopoto was unable to race the final three races of the season, he still led the way with seven supercross class victories. Villopoto’s amazing run in the middle of the season saw him win seven of 10 races from San Francisco to Houston.

But the W650 had a charm that Bonneville has never been able to find: a true character engine! And this engine was sublime: vertical twin stalled at 360 ° (both pistons go up and down at the same time), eight valves and a camshaft in head caused by a very nice tree outside: a lovely mechanical sculpture.
