2011 volkswagen cc reviews

the Volkswagen CC competes with entry-level sport sedans, such as the Audi A4, Cadillac CTS, and Lexus IS.

Like the CC, the Maxima is a dressed-up, more fashionable sedan based on a mainstream one (the Altima, in the Maxima's case).

Volkswagen CC in United States is also known as Volkswagen Passat CC. Volkswagen CC is a 4 door Coupe model of Passat. Volkswagen Passat CC is categorized between Volkswagen Phaeton and Volkswagen Passat.

Volkswagen CC 2.0T Lux trim is added with some advanced accessories like 18 inch alloy wheels, dual zone climate control, fog lights, brushed aluminum interior trim and navigation system.
2011 Volkswagen CC is offered with two type of engine. Volkswagen CC VR6 4Motion is armored with 3.6 L capacity V6 engine and mated with all wheel drive channel.

Body Styles

The 2011 Volkswagen CC is a four-passenger sedan that is offered in five trim levels. Starting with the base 2.0T Sport, standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing windshield wipers, full power accessories, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, cruise control, air-conditioning, a trip computer, hill-hold assist, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with multifunction controls, leatherette premium vinyl upholstery, 12-way adjustable front seats and split-folding rear seats. The 2.0T Lux trim augments the Sport model by adding 18-inch alloy wheels, foglights, dual-zone climate control, brushed aluminum interior trim and a navigation system. The VR6 4Motion Executive trim features a more powerful V6 engine and all-wheel drive, along with polished 18-inch wheels, headlight washers, heated outside mirrors, steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles, a power rear sunshade, parking sensors, driver seat memory, leather sport seats and a premium 10-speaker audio system.

The 2011 "Volkswagen CC" offers buyers the choice of two powertrains: front-wheel drive with a turbocharged inline-4 and all-wheel drive with a V6. Sport trim models come standard with a six-speed manual transmission, while a six-speed automated manual transmission (DSG) is available as an option. Other trim levels featuring the 2.0-liter turbo are only offered with the DSG automatic. The EPA estimates fuel economy for the DSG automatic at 22 mpg city/31 mpg highway and 25 mpg in combined driving.

All Volkswagen CCs come standard with antilock disc brakes (with brake assist), stability and traction control, hill-hold assist, front-seat side airbags and side curtain airbags. Last year's optional rear-seat side airbags have been discontinued.

It received five stars for front-passenger side crash protection and four stars for rear-passenger side protection.

2011 Volkswagen Touareg review

Face-lifted once since its 2002 born-on date, the VW Touareg is set for a full redesign for 2011. This saves about 400 pounds, which when combined with its increased body rigidity, should substantially sharpen on-pavement performance.

Volkswagen's first-ever production hybrid is based on a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 augmented by a battery-powered electric motor. Outside the new Touareg appears tauter and edgier, with more pronounced character lines and wheel arches. Early first-drive results reveal that the reworked 2011 Volkswagen Touareg has not only taken its place alongside contemporary rivals like Acura's MDX and BMW's X5, it also appears to have what it takes to compete against cutting-edge hybrid rivals like the Lexus RX 450h and Mercedes ML450 Hybrid.

The 2011 Volkswagen Touareg ranks 1 out of 17 Luxury Midsize SUVs. Redesigned for 2011, the Volkswagen Touareg boasts a sharp new exterior, a luxurious and more spacious cabin, and an all-new hybrid model.

Though it’s significantly improved, the "2011 Touareg" is expected to cost about the same as the previous model. Though the base model is the cheapest, reviewers largely recommend its hybrid and diesel counterparts instead. The base Touareg’s 16/23 mpg city/highway rating is in the middle of the class. But while the base Volkswagen Touareg has some flaws, don’t entirely discount it.

If you’re considering the Touareg Hybrid, it’s also worth it to look at the RX 450h hybrid. Its 32/28 fuel economy rating is the best in its class, and the RX starts at about $8,000 less than the Touareg Hybrid.

As part of its redesign, the Touareg has lost its permanent four-wheel drive system. The 2011 Volkswagen Touareg comes in three trims: the base VR6 FSI, the diesel-powered TDI, and the all-new Hybrid. If you prefer the old Touareg, don’t despair.

There is a conventional gasoline V-6 (3.6-liter, 280-horsepower) unit, the clean-diesel 3.0-liter V-6 TDI that makes 225 horsepower, and then the new Hybrid, which combines a supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 with an electric traction motor for total power of 380 horsepower.

All three Touareg models use a new eight-speed automatic transmission. The Touareg Hybrid ain't light, and it feels every bit of its weight on the road.

The 2011 Volkswagen Touareg V6 TDI has a 3.0-liter diesel engine that outputs 176 kW / 240 PS and 550 Nm of torque.

2012 Passat and new Beetle,Volkswagen's Super Bowl spots

Volkswagen's Super Bowl spots, featuring the all-new Beetle and the 2012 Passat, have already garnered significant buzz. In an unorthodox twist, Volkswagen's post-game Web strategy is to move on from its Super Bowl ads, directing viewers to a new "Inside the Academy" ad starring Saturday Night Live's Bill Hader that will break Monday.

Volkswagen will run a YouTube home page takeover Monday with the new ad posted in the masthead unit. After it plays, viewers are taken to a page hosting previous Inside the Academy videos and the two Super Bowl TV spots.
During the game Sunday, Volkswagen will play previously released Inside the Academy videos on ESPN Mobile, where it also purchased a home page takeover.

Yesterday, Volkswagen leaked a Super Bowl ad for the 2012 Passat on YouTube. In this incredibly clever ad, a kid dressed as Darth Vader walks around his house trying to use "The Force" while the powerful Star Wars score plays.

The ad hints at the silhouette of the redesigned New Beetle — but does not go beyond what was shown last fall on The Oprah Winfrey Show. The Passat ad is said to draw on the "emotional heritage of Star Wars," according to Volkswagen. A child dressed up as Darth Vader unsuccessfully practices summoning up The Force on the family washing machine, the dog and a baby doll. The ad is accompanied by "The Imperial March," the stirring music from the Star Wars movies.

2011 vw Jetta prices in European markets

The new Jetta slots between the Golf and Passat sizewise and with a range of highly efficient TSI and TDI engines, it has the perfect recipe for European taste. The car also gets dual-clutch transmissions (DSG) which you don’t usually see in a car of this price range.

Now measuring 4.64 metres in length (+ 9.0 cm) it is closing the gap between the Golf (4.20 metres) and Passat (4.77 metres) more precisely in Europe. As noted, the Trendline version of the Jetta 1.2 TSI costs 20,900 euros. The base price of the Jetta 1.6 TDI Trendline with BlueMotion Technology is 23,475 euros. Other power levels: a TDI with 103 kW / 140 PS and (following over the course of the year) three TSIs with 90 kW / 122 PS, 118 kW / 160 PS and 147 kW / 200 PS. All engines except the 105 PS TSI may be combined with an optional dual-clutch transmission (DSG).

The new Jetta measures 4.64 meters (183 inch) in length, which means an additional 9 cm (3.54 inch) when compared to the previous generation, closing the gap between the Golf (4.20 metres / 165 inch) and Passat (4.77 metres / 188 inch) in the European market.

The base price of the Jetta 1.6 TDI Trendline with BlueMotion Technology is EUR23,475.
Moving on, the Comfortline (starting at EUR22,600) adds 8-way adjustment of driver and front passenger seats, the RCD 210 radio-CD system, a Chrome Pack a Small Leather Pack (leather-trimmed steering wheel, gearshift grip and parking brake grip), 16-inch, 5-spoke “Navarra” alloy wheels, and the Park Pilot assistance system.

Born in the USA: 2012 VW Passat, Previously known as NMS, Revealed Ahead of Detroit Show

Volkswagen has finally lifted the covers of its New Midsize Sedan [NMS], and it's name is... Passat. In other words, the Wolfsburg-based carmaker chose to retain the Passat name for its new mid size sedan model, which has been specifically developed for the North American market and will be built at the firm's new US plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The four-door saloon model will be launched in the States in mid-August with an entry-level price in the US$20,000 range, according to the company. Final prices will be announced in March. "There is hardly any other saloon of this size (exactly 191.7 inches or 4,868 mm long) that offers such high technology and quality at a comparable price," said Volkswagen in a statement.

As previously mentioned, the new, U.S. market Passat has a length of 191.7 inches (4,868 mm). Its wheelbase is 110.4 inches (2,803 mm) and its width is 72.2 inches (1,835 mm), meaning its size has increased in all three dimensions compared to the previous model. This should translate to increased passenger space over the same-name model it replaces.

The sedan's exterior styling draws its inspiration from the recently launched Jetta, and not from the refreshed, European market, Passat - not that there's a huge difference... Not surprisingly, the interior also looks similar to the Jetta, albeit with more upscale trim.

According to the German automaker, the car’s technology and styling came from Germany, while Volkswagen of America provided the conceptual direction.

Talking about technology (or the lack it...), the entry-level Passat will be offered in the States with VW's familiar 2.5-liter five-cylinder motor producing 170-horsepower, while returning an estimated 31mpg on the highway.

Other engine options will include a more frugal Clean Diesel (TDI) with 140HP and a highway fuel economy of 43mpg, and a six-cylinder petrol engine, the 3.6-liter VR6 with 280-horsepower, which is paired with a standard dual clutch transmission (DSG), returning 28mpg on the highway and completing the 0-60mph sprint in 6.5 seconds.

Buyers in the U.S. will have a choice of three equipment lines: S, SE and SEL. The base version will come equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system, ESP, ABS with braking assistant, Hill Climb Assist (with manual transmission and DSG), and six airbags

Other standard features include electric windows all round, air conditioning, insulating glass, an analogue clock in the center of the instrument panel, cruise control, outside temperature display with frost warning, radio-CD system (MP3-capable, plus external audio input) and a Bluetooth hands-free mobile phone system (with voice activation).

2011 Detroit Auto Show vw Passat for United States

on the 2011 Detroit Auto Show stage, Volkswagen is unveiling a Passat developed specifically for the United States. Starting in mid-August, it will be available at North American dealers with an entry-level price in the 20,000 dollar range – larger, more comfortable and more efficient than ever.

Inside, it offers generous space. Volkswagen of America will offer the new Volkswagen in the three equipment lines S, SE and SEL. The saloon is also friendly to the environment. The Clean Diesel (TDI) with 103 kW / 140 PS attains a fuel economy of 43 miles per gallon! Other powertrain options: a 125 kW/ 170 PS five cylinder gasoline engine and a six cylinder engine with 206 kW / 280 PS.

Despite drawing on the looks that Europeans are familiar with, every external panel is new with subtle changes to the window line, rear lights, bootlid and bumper as well as restyled doors and front wings. The US Passat is 99mm longer and 13mm wider than the European version and will sell for about £13,000.
The range-topping engine will be a 3.6-litre unit producing 276bhp.
With the Passat now a reality, Chattanooga reporters could turn their attention to the rest of the North American International Auto Show in Detroit’s Cobo Hall.

This event was like O’Reilly’s World of Wheels on steroids. All the VW executives were there, as were the political elite of the Chattanooga/Hamilton County area. When the name was first revealed on Sunday evening at the VW event, many from the Scenic City were not keen on retaining an old name for an “all-new” car. Many felt it should have carried a more Chattanooga name. The new Maserati lived up to its usual sleek, beautiful body, as did the model who stood next to the car. As for the Tesla, who would have ever thought of building a hybrid sports car in the class of the elite? A four-door Porsche? Given it has four doors, it was still one of the sleeker cars on the floor.

The first was built on an Explorer body and chassis and, in my opinion, gave much more flexibility than the old passenger car model of the CV. Given either, if Chattanooga possessed these and I had to pay for a take-home car, count me in. The model for Maserati took first place in her category. The Passat’s audio system is a new collaboration, exclusively built for Volkswagen. It carries the popular game’s logo on a mostly black vehicle.

2012 Volkswagen Passat: Live Photos from NAIAS Plus Driving Footage and First TV Ad

One of the most highly anticipated world premieres of the 2011 NAIAS, the new U.S. market 2012 Volkswagen Passat, turned out to be one of the less exciting -at least in terms of design- introductions of the show. The US-built replacement for the European-sourced Passat literally looks like an extra-large Jetta, which drew its own share of criticism for its uninspired and generic looks. For comparison, we've added a few shots of the Jetta after the jump.

While the design may not be engaging, the car's lower sticker prices will certainly attract more buyers as the new Passat will start from around $20,000 or some $7,000 to $8,000 less than the 2011MY it replaces.

However, keep in mind that while the base 2011 Passat was offered with a modern 200HP 2.0 TFSI, the entry-level 2012MY Passat will come with VW's old 2.5-liter five-cylinder unit rated at 170HP.

Other engine options for U.S. buyers include a more frugal 140HP 2.0-liter turbo diesel that returns up to 43mpg, and a range topping 3.6-liter VR6 with 280HP and a 0-60mph sprint time of 6.5 seconds.

Volkswagen will manufacture the 2012 Passat at its new $1 billion Chattanooga factory in Tennessee, the automaker's first U.S. assembly plant since it shut down its Pennsylvania plant in 1988. The mid-size saloon will go on sale in the States in mid-August.
