The Goose

A bit of a change from dragbikes ...... plus, it's the end of the season and I've barely touched the bike since i got back from the last race, and don't have anything to report anyway.

I've always had a thing for unusual bikes, and one such bike i spotted several years ago was the Suzuki Goose. It's an odd combination of 350cc single cylinder DR350 engine, in a tiny little metallic blue trellis frame, with skinny minimalist cafe racer styling, and a very odd name. Why it's called a goose i've no idea.
So when i came accross a one at a very reasonable price i couldn't refuse, and yesterday i went to pick it up. The picture isn't the actual bike as I've not had chance to photograph it yet. It's the same colour, is in pretty good condition, just needs tax n test and it's ready to roll. I'll take it for MOT on Saturday.

There have been some happenings where drag racing is concerned. A deal has been struck to buy a new/used ignition for the bike. It's a complete MSD setup including the latest MC-4 programmable ignition, red MSD coils, leads, RPM box, crank rotor and pickups.
The reason for the upgrade is to give more flexibility with ignition timing, and for simplicity. The MC-4 has everything built in that currently there are individual boxes for. 2 step. retard unit, kill switches and numerous relays to control the kill for the 1-2-3 auto.
It will simplify the wiring harness significantly and reduce the number of failure prone relays.
