It's still the bopchop

It's just a few days now till the next event, the 'National Finals' at Santa Pod. The entry list is the best so far this year with 11 bikes in total, the event is only a 2 day affair with qualifying Saturday and Eliminations Sunday. It will be crucial to get a good qualifying time posted.

However ...
It will be a close call as to whether the bopchop (i gave up trying to think of names so it's still the bopchop) will actually be ready at all. I only picked the cases up Friday evening and spent the whole weekend cleaning them up and reassembling the everything. Tonight i refitted the clutch, exhaust, carbs and set the ignition timing.
The close call will be with the cams. I fitted some new cams that i acquired at the last meeting, however- it became apparent when i came to set the valve clearances, that the adjuster screws weren't going to be long enough. I've had to go for extended tappet screws.
Luckily Roger Upperton has some in stock and is sending them to me. I must thank Roger loads for the help he's given me recently, especially sorting the new cases out at pretty short notice and doing such an excellent job.
If you require any parts or engine work carrying out Roger is the man. More info can be found on his website here http://www.uppertonracing.com

If the worst happens i can swap the cams for my old ones, but that's not really the desired result!

Anyway, we leave on Friday morning for the pod, this time we are properly managed and the usual crew of Sam and Stuart will be there, plus it's likely James will be coming as well as my Sister (long term supplier of cellars - Vikki) and possibly my other Sister Ju.
