TOYOTA ETIOS REVIEW

Toyota has unvieled its new car Etios at the Auto Expo 2010. Etios is an all new small car and sedan concept. The new hatch back has to face big challenges from Maruti swift along with other premium hatchback cars in India like Fiat Punto, Hyundai i20 and Skoda Fabia.

The new Etios will be available in two engine options - a 1.4-liter diesel that powers the Yaris (not available in India) and a 1.2- or 1.3-liter petrol engine. Toyota also has a 1.3L petrol engine (K3 series) but has not made it clear whether it will be downsized to 1.2L to meet the small car regulation.

The Etios will be offered with two engine options - 1.2-litre and 1.5-litre DOHC 16-valve petrol engines. The new Etios has a sharp styling cues with a big smiling grille and a strong shoulder line with an upward cut along the bottom of the door. The new Etios offers more space on the inside with roomy interiors and looking for a production volume of 70,000 units in the first year with a gradual increase in volumes from there on.
